We had a really fun day today. We started our morning with pink heart pancakes for breakfast. My hearts didn't turn out perfect, but the kids liked them anyway. They gave me cards they had made earlier in the week with a babysitter. Thanks guys! I love them! Dad appreciated you remembering him Max. The kids had their valentine parties at school and came home with tons of goodies. For dinner we had a red and pink candlelight dinner. We had lasagna and they could choose between strawberry milk or red punch. We got out our "fine china" and goblets, turned all the lights out and ate by candlelight. Kye was a little scared (next year we will get more candles) so we had to compromise and turn on a few lights. I love my little valentine's!

valentine cards
I have seen these all over the internet on crafty blogs and thought they were really cute. So I decided to make them this year for the kids to hand out to their friends at school. I LOVE how they turned out.

great game
Max had a really good game today! He hasn't scored all season and his coach keeps telling him "when you get the ball shoot it." Well today he did and he made it! He scored 5 points today. He made one basket and three free throws (he shot 100%). It was a close game so his points really helped the team. They are still undefeated.

coooookies
The last couple weeks we started having Friday night movie and treat night. Tonight because it is Valentine's weekend I decided to make sugar cookies. Liz, Rob and Noah stopped in to spend the night as they were passing through, so I put them to work. Liz rolled out and cut all the cookies and was kind enough to bring the frosting and candy toppings. Sorry about the movie, it was kind of lame! I did warn you though. I am glad they came, even if it was just for a quick visit.

art show
Tonight the elementary school had a science, literacy, art and math (SLAM) event. They had lots of activities for the kids to do. Max and Kye loved that their art work was on display in the art show. It was really cool to see a piece of art hanging from every kid in the school.

100 years old
Kye brought this art work home today. I thought it was so funny. They had to make a picture of them when they are 100 years old. The face and hair are made out of torn paper.

you decide
Today, like every other morning, I asked Sam what she wanted done with her hair. This morning she wanted "Kai-lan hair." Ni Hao Kai-lan is a cartoon on tv. I told her I didn't know what her hair looks like. Sam was very specific. "She has two messy buns on top and some little hairs hanging down in her face." When I finished she said, "Exactly!" Then when I went to take a picture she would not open her eyes, I have no idea why.
