girl jammies
Sam got her first night gown EVER today. I have never liked night gowns, but ever since Sam saw her cousins she has wanted one. So today, because they were on sale, I gave in and bought one. It came complete with a wand and "sleeping shoes". She was so excited to finally have "girl jammies".

meal toys
Today we took the kids to see "Despicable Me" in the theater. I didn't get a picture today, so another one from yesterday.
Sometimes you get the strangest toys in kids meals.

space center
Today we took the kids to Stennis Space Center. This is where they test all the engines for the space shuttles. We took a tour on a bus then went to the museum where we they had tons of hands on stuff for the kids. I would have liked to read the information, but we were constantly on the go…to many things to see and not enough people in our group who could read.

overrated
Today we decided to spend the day at the beach. My mom went out and bought a canopy for us to have shade. We loaded up the cooler, gathered all the sand toys, we grabbed a couple chairs and some towels and we were ready to go. Everyone had their arms full. We get to the beach and Sam wouldn’t walk on the sand because sometime during the last week she developed a fear of crabs. Funny thing, nobody saw any crabs. So I had to make a few trips to get to our spot on the sand. When we finally got everything and everyone to the beach it took us forever to get the canopy up. It took a while but I finally got Sam to stand in the sand and Hunter to stop eating the sand. We were enjoying ourselves when Max comes over and rather calmly tells me that his arm feels funny. We look and he had been stung by a jelly fish. We decide to break “camp” and spend the rest of the day at the pool with no jelly fish, no sand and no crabs.

tea party
We found a children’s museum. It is about 5 minutes from my parents house. It was a great one! They had tons of stuff to do inside and out. We spent about 4 hours there today and only left because it was closing. The tree houses outside were fun, but somehow Sam managed to find a puddle of water and fall in it. She was soaked! But she didn’t let that slow her down.

shopping
We had to go to Sam’s today and get food. With Trevor gone and my dad at work it left me and my mom with 6 crazy kids. We had one cart for kids and one for food (and Hunter because he was sleeping). They were crawling all over the cart like monkeys. Zack and Brock showed everyone else how to ride on the bottom of the cart. Which we let them do until Brock started cleaning the floor with his hair.

cousins
Last night we spent the evening at my cousins house with her family. I hadn't seen her since we were kids.

Montgomery
We went and walked around downtown Montgomery today. It was so HOT! We went to a Civil Rights Memorial, the capital building, and Old Downtown. After that we drove around in our air conditioned cars and looked at sights. We saw where my dad went to elementary school and where his old house used to be (approx. the middle of the freeway!)

Alabama
We drove to Alabama today to see my grandparents. A trip that should have taken 4 hours took us almost 6. Sam had to stop a million times to use the bathroom, it was crazy.

six
We celebrated Kye’s birthday today. We went bowling, had cupcakes and ice-cream and opened presents. My mom didn't have any matches so Kye had to pretend to blow out his candle!

chillin'
Today we flew to Mississippi to spend some time with my parents. Zack and Brock were also visiting. Of course, the first thing the kids wanted to do was go swimming . We did venture across the street to the beach, but the kids like the pool better.

flowers for me
Sam was outside "helping" Trevor with the yard work when she came running in yelling that she got some flowers for me. They were our centerpiece for lunch today. They are beautiful, thanks Sam!

upside down
I heard laughing in the family room and walked in to find Max, Kye and Sam leaning over the couch upside down. They were just being silly together.

Petty Pup
Kye has a stuffed animal named Petty Pup (because the Petty's gave it to him). He loves it! He decided today was Petty Pup's birthday so he had a party for him. He made a cake for him (the picture on the floor, it was a skydiving party) and invited all of his dog friends.

bowling party
We had Kye's birthday party at the bowling alley today. Everyone got to bowl, eat pizza, take a tour behind the lanes and eat cake. Then all the kids received a bowling pin to take home, they loved that.

dentist
Sam went to the dentist today for the first time. She did awesome! I sat in the waiting room and she went back all by herself. They did x-rays and cleaned her teeth. When they brought me back to talk to the dentist she was all smiles. She was so excited to get her new princess toothbrush.

disgusting derby
Today we got together with friends for a disgusting derby. They got to burp, eat donuts without using their hands, dig in pudding for worms with their face and have a gooey relay race. They had a good time!

flesh wound
When I found this little guy I asked the kids why his leg was broken off. Sam told me she wanted to change his shoes! Countless number of boys have played with him, but it is my girl who breaks him, go figure. Trevor told me it is "a flesh wound" and to just put him back with the other knights.

sliding
Today the kids and I headed to the pool. At this pool you have to take a swim test and be a certain height to be able to go down the slides. When it is just me and the kids, Max is the only one able to go down the slides. He loves it.

bribery works
I always beg Sam to let me do something different with her hair, but she always wants either one ponytail or two ponytails. She tells me braids hurt, which is probably my fault. Anyway today I told her if she let me put a braid in her hair I would let her have a cookie after lunch. She let me and no complaining about it hurting. Maybe she will let me do it again. I wonder what it will cost me.

busted
I don't have baby gates and Hunter has discovered the stairs. I put these chairs as a barricade, but he found a way through. He was pretty proud of himself. It worked yesterday, but not today.

penguins
Today we went to a polar bear and penguin exhibit. They didn't have live animals, just static displays. The kids favorite part was dressing up like penguins and going down the "ice" slide.

Cathedral Rock
Today we went hiking on Mount Charleston. We hiked to the top of Cathedral Rock (about 1.2 miles each way). While we were eating our snacks at the top about ten chipmunks showed up begging for food. Max kept yelling every time he saw one, while Kye and Sam were trying to get them to eat out of their hands. Hunter was able to touch one brave chipmunk and we scared him away before Hunter could grab him.

froggy kisses
We had lunch on the base today. The kids got little frog water squirt toys with their meal. It didn't take long for the boys to figure this out. They thought it was so cool.

watering the grass
Trevor went out to water the grass with Kye, Sam and Hunter in tow. I came out to check on them and this is what I found. Sam thought it was hilarious to run in the water and get squirted with the hose.

their favorite treat
The kids favorite assignment for FHE is being in charge of the treat. We have had donuts quite a lot in the past couple months. Kye picked donuts tonight and Sam told me she wants to pick the donuts next week.

I don't think so...
We were running late and I was trying to get everyone in the car for church this morning when Sam asked if she could bring a toy to church. I told her to hurry and pick one and make sure it didn't make noise. I was getting Hunter buckled in the car and out walks Sam with this bow. I say, "I don't think so. Put it in the house and get in the car." Sam's reply, "Why? It doesn't make noise." She then bursts into tears and cried the entire way to church.

meat sticks
Tonight at dinner I gave Hunter the baby meat sticks that come in the jars. He had them the day before and didn't finish the jar so I put them in the fridge. They must have been really cold because every time he took a bite he made a face of total disgust, but yet he never spit it out and continued to eat it. Once he finished chewing he was all smiles. We just laughed.

going home
We drove home today. Sam, for some reason, didn't want to each lunch in the restaurant like the rest of us. She saved hers for the car. Don't ask me why, because I have no idea!
