no school

The kids didn't have school today and I wanted to get them out of the house.  So we decided to go to the Springs Preserve.  We discovered a playground that we didn't see last time.  It is always fun to go there.

Last night Kye wanted to wear one of Sam's new hair bows.  I don't know if I should be worried that my son wants to wear hair accessories.   He thought it was so funny.

Trevor took Hunter running.  Lately whenever Hunter gets in the stroller he grabs the football and holds it the entire time.  Today he grabbed a hat and the football.  He makes me laugh.

minute to win it

Today at school the 3rd grade GATE (gifted and talented education) students put on a Minute to Win It assembly for the rest of third grade.  Parents were invited so we went to watch.  They each picked a game to study, analyze and present at the assembly.  Max picked "Chapstack".  He had to balance 4 chapsticks on top of each other in less than a minute.  When it was his turn in the assembly he did it perfectly.

A friend of mine got tickets to see the comedian Gordie Brown.  It was nice to get out and have some girl time without the kids.

I was sitting on the couch talking to my sister on the phone when Hunter climbed up on my lap.  Within a minute or two he fell asleep.   I couldn't believe how fast he went out.  He knows when he is tired.

I went in to get Hunter out of bed this morning and Sam is still dead asleep.  I don't know how she sleeps with a blanket across her face and no covers, but she does.  She has done this since she was really little.  I always think she is just hiding from me, but she is asleep.  I asked her why she covers her face and she told me, "so my face doesn't get cold."  How can you argue with that?
