Today we had an hour between soccer games so we went up to the playground and let the kids play. Hunter followed the big kids around and did whatever they did. He loved a section of the park where you crawl in a tube then it dips down like a slide and you climb back up the other side. The only problem was he couldn’t climb out. He would get stuck at the bottom. Max and Kye would have to crawl in and rescue him. He obviously didn’t mind because he did it over and over and over again.

Mother’s Day
I have the best kids ever. I woke up this morning to Trevor and the kids bringing me breakfast in bed. Sam kept eating all my fruit as soon as Trevor set the tray down. We had a nice day. Kye made paper flowers and a coupon book at school. Sam made a plaster hand print and answered some questions about me. Max also made coupons.

around around and around
Tristan had his birthday party at the Children’s Museum today and invited the entire family. We let our membership expire so we hadn’t been in a while. The kids had so much fun there, they didn’t want to leave. I was getting sick just watching them spin around on this.

coloring eggs
Because we were gone over Easter weekend we didn’t have a chance to color eggs so we decided to do it tonight, which was great because I bought the coloring kit for a quarter at Wal-Mart on clearance. I used these tall glasses this year and it turned out disastrous. Kye, Sam and I each tipped over a cup of color, it was everywhere! Trevor came home and said the kitchen smelled like vinegar.

jumping fun
We took the kids to a place that was full of bouncy houses. This was actually the second time we took them this week. When we asked the kids what they wanted to do today they said they wanted to go back. Hunter didn’t like jumping he just wanted to run all over the place. I forgot to bring my camera inside, so this was the best picture I could get.
That night at dinner Hunter just wanted to hold my arm and lean on me. He was exhausted from playing all day with his cousins.

carwash
I never knew the drive-thru carwash could be so entertaining. I just sat and watched the kids the entire time and laughed. Hunter was not sure about the whole thing. He kept looking side to side with a very worried look on his face. Max had some comment for every step of the wash. Kye and Sam were fascinated by everything going on. They didn’t say much except “cool”.

playing games
We love to play board games at our house. I have always liked games and I love it that my kids do too. But lately it is becoming more difficult to actually play because Hunter wants to join in. The older kids were trying to play Ticket to Ride and Hunter kept climbing on the table and grabbing the trains. The kids think Hunter’s new “smile” is hilarious, so Max has to do the same. And if you look closely Sam is eating a train; maybe that is part of her strategy to get rid of all her trains first!

team party
Tonight we went to the Mini Gran Prix for Max’s basketball team party. Trevor is TDY this weekend so it was me and the four kids. I took Kye because he said he was feeling up to it, but when we got there he just laid on the benches. I felt bad for him, but there wasn’t anything I could do. Max ran around with his friends riding the rides and I kept Sam and Hunter inside. They all had a good time, except Kye. I told him we would go back and use Max’s award when dad could come with us.
Hunter makes me laugh in this picture. This is his new smile. Every time I bring out the camera and try to take a picture this is the face he gives me. I hope this phase is short because every picture lately looks like he is mad and in a bad mood.

slurpees
Tonight for “movie night” I got the kids slurpees. They wouldn’t stop watching the movie for me to take a picture. They have never had a slurpee before! I thought it would be fun because Kye would be able to eat it. He is doing well and has started eating more solid food, but he still has a jello at every meal. It has been a week and I thought he would be feeling a lot better by now. He went off the pain medicine for a couple days, but I ended up giving him some today because he was complaining it hurt.

ice cream
Tonight for FHE I took the kids to get ice cream at McDonalds. Kye’s throat is sore and he has only been eating jello and popsicles. I thought he would enjoy a change. I can definitely tell when the pain medicine wears off. Kye will go from running all over the place to crashing on the couch. Poor guy, I feel so bad for him.

shoes
I definitely got my money's worth on these shoes. I bought Max a pair of Nike sneakers when he was almost one. I saved them and Kye also wore them. I don't think I ever put Sam in them because they are boy shoes, and it was so much fun to buy her girlie shoes. So I saved them for Hunter. I thought it would be fun to see all the boys wearing them.

friends
These are the neighbor kids and my kids love playing with them. We are sad because they told us they are going to move soon.

playing at the park
The kids didn't have school today so we went to play at the park. The kids loved getting out and running around. Hunter ran all over the place and kept eyeing the slides that the older kids were going down. The slides are really twisty and steep and the signs say "you must be 6 or older to go down the slides." That didn't stop Sam, she loved them. I wouldn't let Hunter near them.

bowling
After Max's game today we took the kids bowling. They loved it. Everyone had a fun time.
I tried to get a group shot at the end, but it didn't turn out so well. Sam kept trying to pick up Hunter, which was making him mad. So we told her to stop and that made her mad. We just love family bonding time!

imagination movers
The YMCA had a coloring contest a couple weeks ago. While Max was at basketball practice and Sam was in the kids care she colored a picture and they entered her in the contest. Last week when I came home there was a message on our answering machine telling us Sam won. She won 4 tickets to Imagination Movers.
So tonight was the big show. I got a babysitter for Hunter and I took the older kids. I think they really liked it. Thanks Sam for doing a great job coloring.

"watching" the game
Max has a basketball game every Saturday. We all go to cheer him on. What really happens is Kye wants to play a game on the iPhone, Hunter wants to climb all over the bleachers and Sam chases Hunter. I don't think anyone will ever want to sit by us.

shower time
Kye really enjoyed swimming over the break that I signed him up again for lessons this month. It has really been good for him. He is good at it and I think it has been a good self esteem boost. Today I let Max and Sam swim while Kye was in lessons. When it was time to go I told them to rinse off and change. They all jumped in the shower and were having as much fun there as in the pool. Hunter couldn't quite figure out what was going on.

christmas eve traditions
I started doing this last year, so it is a fairly new tradition. But I have decided to have a nice dinner every Christmas Eve. I bring out the chargers and the water goblets. The kids love that they get to eat off glass plates and use glass glasses.
Every year the kids get new pajamas. I tried to find Hunter black pajamas, but they just don't make black baby pajamas. When Sam opened her present and saw them she said, "I got boy jammies?!?" Sorry Sam, but I don't think the boys would wear pink.

decorating the tree
We let the kids decorate the tree this year. Someday I will get my "beautiful tree". They love doing it and this is really who the Christmas season is for. Only the lower part of the tree is decorated, but I love to sit back and watch them. Hunter kept taking the ornaments off. He was having just as much fun.
