beach preschool

This is my last week of teaching preschool for this year.  This was such a great group.  I had so much fun with them.  This week our theme was ocean and beach.  On Tuesday we went the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay for a field trip and today we made beach in a bottle with seashells I picked up last summer in Mississippi.  Even Hunter joined in and helped the kids put shells in their bottles.

egg hunt

Today at preschool we had an egg hunt. Everyone brought 6 eggs with a treats inside and during playtime I hid them in the backyard. They were so excited about the hunt and I kind of felt bad making them wait until the very end to do it. But it was a great motivator!

preschool

It was my turn to teach preschool again.  I wasn’t originally scheduled for this week, but I traded another mom because she couldn’t do it this week.  The theme was Easter and we learned about baby animals, played colored eggs and learned the nursery rhyme Humpty Dumpty

butterflies

Today we continued talking about bugs at preschool.  But we focused on Butterflies today.  We made stained glass butterflies, which I think turned out great.
We learned about the life cycle of a butterfly.   I wrapped the kids up in a chrysalis and they had to break free.  They thought it looked a lot like toilet paper, but it was a chrysalis, silly kids!

ladybugs

It is my turn to teach preschool again.  It is amazing how fast six weeks fly by.  This week we are learning about bugs.  We made ladybug costumes.  Jared wouldn't wear his for the picture.  We had fun learning about ladybugs and ants today!  We sang "The Ants Go Marching" song over and over and over.  They loved marching all over the house.

space preschool

It is my turn for preschool again we are learning about space.  So for our snack (which I thought turned out so cute!) we made flying saucers.  I made a sample and the kids each made their own.  We were talking about where the alien sits to fly the saucer (in the donut) and one of the kids kept asking if he could have more aliens, "aliens are so good".   I am not sure if he told his mom he ate aliens at my house, but I thought it was funny.

pirate preschool

It was my turn to teach preschool this week.  The theme was pirates.  This is one of my favorite themes.  Today we went on a pirate treasure hunt.  We took our ship to the deserted island (the park across the street) and followed our map to the treasure.  We saw mermaids, alligators, a lava pit, a sleeping bear, sharks  and lots of snakes.  But we were brave and found the treasure before the other pirates came.  They all had a great time.

pumpkin patch

Today for preschool I took the kids to a pumpkin patch.  It was a great field trip!  We had another preschool group go with us and all the kids had so much fun.  They had a jumpy castle, a huge slide, and a blow up obstacle course, which I think was the favorite.  It didn't take the whole time so after the pumpkin patch we came back to my house and decorated the little pumpkins they got from the pumpkin patch.

pumpkin preschool

This is my week for preschool.  These kids are great!  We had so much fun learning about pumpkins.  We learned the history of pumpkins, we explored a pumpkin inside and out (only a couple would actually reach inside and touch the pumpkin guts) and we decorated pumpkin sugar cookies.  I hope they had as much fun as I did.
