reading

Max loves to read.  He is very diligent about reading at least 30 minutes every day.  Tonight he didn't have time to read before soccer practice so during Kye's practice he sat and read his book.

dress for success

At school they have different dress up days.  Today was dress for success.  Kye was very excited to wear a tie to school.  He woke up and picked out his clothes first thing.  Max was relieved when I told him he didn't have to dress up if he didn't want to.

girl backpack

Sam has been using the same backpack Max and Kye both used for preschool. She was disappointed when I wouldn't let her pick out a new backpack for school. The one she is using is in great condition and I got it free when Max started school so the price was right. It is however a smaller backpack and she, unlike the boys, has a binder she takes back and forth to preschool. It barely fits in the backpack but the zipper won't close. I told her to tough it out.

Well just her luck I was walking through Target and I found this backpack on clearance for $3.50, so I bought it. You have never seen a happier girl. Over and over she tells me, "Thanks Mom for getting me a girl backpack."

cinnamon rolls

It was my turn to make the treat for FHE.  So tonight I decided to try the cinnamon rolls I learned how to make last Saturday.  I only make bread once a year at Christmas time, so for me this was a big deal.  They turned out great.  They looked beautiful, they smelled delicious and everyone thought they were super yummy.  I realized I didn't take a picture before they were devoured, so everyone told me I could take a picture of their bellies.

I got a great leg workout today!  Sam thought this was so fun.

I sewed...

Today was Super Saturday at the church.  I signed up for a sewing class and a couple cooking classes.  If you know me well, you know I don't sew.  It was a class to learn how to make a pair of pants into a skirt.  I thought it turned out cute.

I can't believe it is pajama day again.  Where does the time go?
