last soccer games

The soccer season ended yesterday.  The boys had their last games and had end of year parties.  There coaches were great and gave each player a unique award.  Max received the "Dubble Bubble" Award for being a good forward as well as a good defender and goalie.  Kye received the "Motivation Popsicle" Award as a reminder that we all need a little motivation sometimes.  The story behind that is one game Kye was the goalie and the coaches wanted him to be more aggressive and go after the ball.  They asked Kye what would really motivate him and he responded, "popsicles".  So they told him to pretend the ball was a popsicle.

CSI

Tonight we hit the town with some good friends.  We went down to the strip and had dinner at Nine Fine Irishmen in the New York New York Casino.  We then went to the MGM Grand and solved a case in the CSI Experience.  Of course you have to be a complete moron not to solve it, but we had a fun time.

being silly

When I asked Kye what he was doing he said, “Just being silly.”
This picture captures the true Kye;  clothes on backwards, belly showing,
huge smile and just being silly!

rough night

Sam had a rough night tonight at soccer practice.  During practice she needed to go to the bathroom.  The restrooms at the soccer fields are clear on the other end.  As we were walking there she tripped and smacked the sidewalk with her mouth.  It was bleeding and she got a fat lip.  A little while later she was playing with the kids on the hill.  She fell down the hill and hit some rocks, giving her a nice scrape by her eye.  After that she came and sat by me for the rest of practice.

purple tights

I needed to get Sam some new dance tights so I took her to the store with me. I usually get her pink, white or black. She saw the purple tights and fell in love with them. “I’ve never had purple tights before.”

toothless smile

Tonight at dinner Kye bit something and it made his tooth move.  I told him he was going to lose his tooth tonight and after dinner I would yank it out.  He immediately ran to the bathroom and grabbed a tissue.  He handed it to me and told me to pull it out right then, he didn’t want to wait.  One yank and it popped right out!

home-made

Kye is always drawing, coloring or creating something with paper.  I find crayons and paper clippings all over my floors constantly.  The other day he created his own clothes.  He came asking me for tape to hold his clothing on.  I love his creativity!
