family reunion

The entire M. family is together this week.  Today we did pictures.

  Everyone is wearing their matching pajamas from Granny Nanny.   All the kids got Pillow Pets for Christmas and some of them got put on display for the picture.

Today we celebrated Claire's 4th birthday with a birthday party at Granny Nanny's.  We only stayed for a little while because a huge storm was going to hit and I wanted to hit the road while they were still clear.  Sam was sad to leave her favorite cousin, but we will see them again in a few weeks. (I took this picture off Mike's facebook since I didn't take any pictures at the party.  I hope they don't mind.)

thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a little odd this year. There were no men at our Thanksgiving feast. It was my mom, my sister, me and my kids. My mom had this idea to make a Thanksgiving Tree. We were supposed to trace and cut out our hands, then write something we were thankful for on them. We would then attach the hands to a "tree" and that would be our centerpiece. The only one who would do it was Kye, so our tree looked a little pathetic. But we all had something else on our minds, this morning we got a call that Noah (my other sisters baby) was born. We were trying to get everything done so we could get to the hospital!

We have so much to be thankful for!

hours of fun

I didn't realize that a hamock could be so much fun.  The kids played on this forever.  The funny thing was to watch them fall down the hill when they would lose their grip.  Sam was filthy from head to toe because she fell down the hill so many times.

best friends

It is nice to be home after a trip, but I know Kye misses his favorite cousin.   Kye and Zack are best friends.  They have so much fun together.  On this trip they decided to change their names to "GoGo" and  "Goog".  They made themselves name tags so we wouldn't forget their new names.

We went to the Sacramento temple today.  It was beautiful.

Tonight we went to my sister's ward chili cook-off and trunk-or-treat.  I think every Mormon church in America must have this activity.  The kids had fun playing the games and going through the haunted house. 

cousins

Mike, Leora, Claire and Randy came to stay the night with us tonight.  Hunter had so much fun crawling with Randy around the house.  These two seriously couldn't stay away from the stairs.  They were having a great time until Randy started whacking Hunter in the head with a barbie palm tree trunk.

Today we took the kids to see "Despicable Me" in the theater. I didn't get a picture today, so another one from yesterday.

Sometimes you get the strangest toys in kids meals.

Last night we spent the evening at my cousins house with her family. I hadn't seen her since we were kids.

Montgomery

We went and walked around downtown Montgomery today. It was so HOT! We went to a Civil Rights Memorial, the capital building, and Old Downtown. After that we drove around in our air conditioned cars and looked at sights. We saw where my dad went to elementary school and where his old house used to be (approx. the middle of the freeway!)

Today we flew to Mississippi to spend some time with my parents. Zack and Brock were also visiting. Of course, the first thing the kids wanted to do was go swimming . We did venture across the street to the beach, but the kids like the pool better.

family reunion

With everyone living so far apart, we decided it was time for our first family reunion. My parents rented a house in Midway, UT. Picking one picture for each day is going to be tough. Grandma made everyone bandana's.

St. George

Today we spent the day in St. George swimming and hanging out with family. We started out in the pool at the hotel, then went to a park for lunch with a splash pad and spent the afternoon there. Thanks Grandpa and Granny Nanny for a fun weekend.

zombie attack

This morning after breakfast the kids had turned their bedroom into a haunted house. I guess they got tired of scaring each other so they all come walking down the stairs groaning like zombies, with their hands out in front of them. The boys keep groaning and Sam starts popping her pop gun. Then they attack the adults, we fought them off by tickling them to death. Somehow they ended up in this huge zombie pile.

I also wanted to make a note that when Sam heard today was Sunday and she had to wear a dress she said, "I don't like dresses anymore." Well, she almost made it a week.

My kids were so excited when I told them Brett, Erika, Zack, Brock and Elise were coming for the weekend. They love to play with their cousins. It has been so much fun to have them here. We went to the soccer games, played at the park, had a BBQ, ate way to much food, and us girls were able to get away to the outlet mall with no kiddos.
